Kasey holds a Ph.D. in Psychology and is a certified health and fitness coach. She has spent a good chunk of her life developing some serious expertise in mindset and health behavior change.
She has racked up numerous publications in a variety of peer-reviewed scientific journals (aka you can Google scholar her name and even cite her research in APA format for your high school paper–wow!).
Although Kasey is no longer tethered to the chains of an academic career (if you know, you know), she still can’t quite break free from the lure of p-values and scientific jargon.
Knowing that most (normal) people aren’t obsessed enough to get a Ph.D. in this stuff, Kasey created The Health Mindset Coaching Certification.
But don’t worry, just because Kasey is doctorate-level book-smart doesn’t mean she’s lacking in street-smarts. Her experience extends from the lab and into the wild after spending the past decade coaching hundreds of people in their nutrition, fitness, and mindset.
Kasey continues to very successfully juggle one-on-one coaching (with all the help from the magical women of KJO Coaching) in addition to applying research to the real-world. Kasey continues to fight the good fight against “manifestation” and #postivevibes and share the real science of mindset with the coaching industry.
Her expertise is in mindset and health behavior change. She has transformed hundreds of lives (and minds) in her coaching career, while also being published in multiple peer-reviewed scientific journals for her research exploring the relationship between our mindset and our health and fitness behaviors.

She started that journey as she was also working toward her doctorate degree in psychology. During her Ph.D., she studied and conducted research related to mindset and health behavior change (focus on exercise and healthy eating). This allowed her to take what she was learning in the lab and apply it to her coaching in real time.
In addition, Kasey also makes guest appearances on numerous health & fitness podcasts. She shares her knowledge and discusses specific topics, her story and her work.
