Health Mindset Coaching Certification 2.0

If you’re trying to convince your clients to do something or trying to convince someone to buy from you, it’s probably not gonna work. And even if they end up doing that from a behavior change standpoint, they’re not gonna stick to it. Hello my friends, and welcome back to not another Mindset show. I’m your host, Dr.

Kasey Jo. My goal with this podcast is to take the science of mindset and behavior change and distill it down into actionable takeaways for you. Together we’re gonna unpack research around motivations, self-sabotage, willpower, and so much more, and we’re going to take all of that and translate it into strategies you can immediately apply to your health.

Fitness, relationships, business, marketing clients, all of the things. But just to be clear, it’s not all serious and sciencey around here. We’re gonna have a ton of fun too, and I’m so excited to share all of this with you. All right, let’s go ahead and get into the episode. Hello my friends. This is an exciting day.

It’s an exciting week. It’s an exciting episode because we just opened enrollment for the Health Mindset coaching certification for our Spring 2026 cohort, and this enrollment period is unlike. Any previous enrollment period, number one. This is our 12th round what we’re going into our sixth year of running HMCC, and we are about to cross our 1000th.

1000th student. To get certified through the Health Mindset Coaching certification. Huge, huge deals that also come with something else really big. We are calling this HMCC 2.0, not for like any silly marketing reason to just get you to enroll and think that it’s something new when it’s been the same thing the entire time.

Know my friends, I quite literally sat down for hours and hours. And this was so difficult for me to do ’cause I so badly didn’t wanna do it, but I did it for you. Okay. And revamped and rerecorded every single video module inside HMCC. This was not an easy undertaking and was one of those things where I know the content that’s still in there is great and has been able to stay the test of time.

I have gone in over the years and made some tweaks here and there to some of the video modules as more research has come out and things like that. But for the most part, especially since we’re talking about some pretty longstanding theories in behavior change in psychology, that. Still need to be taught today.

Even if maybe they came out in 1985. It was time. It was time because mainly. I know more of what you need after working with 1000 of you. I also know that, and maybe you can, you can argue the other way if you want, but I think I’m a much better speaker. I’m a much better educator. I have since first recording HMCC in 2020.

I have been on probably close to 120 podcasts. I’m sitting here with you after, what is this, our 88th episode, content creation video calls mentorship. I think I’m just better at this stuff now, and I want to bring that better to the modules, the lessons inside the Health Mindset Coaching certification.

So you are getting a fully updated course. And it’s, it’s, it’s a big update. It’s not just, oh, let’s just add a couple things here and there. No, it is, it’s, it’s brain spanking new and it’s. So much better, and I’m so excited for you to get into it. In fact, we already have at this point that I’m recording this, which is literally two months prior to the actual enrollment date.

The day that this episode is coming out, we already have close to 20 students who have pre-committed, and they did so last year. So seats are already filling before we have even opened doors. And with that, this episode. I would like to get into some more of those updates that we’re making. Give you some hints on what kind of bonuses we’re dropping for this specific enrollment.

We have new bonuses every single round, and I think you’re really gonna like them and also, of course, give you a little bit more of a rundown. On HMCC. My goal with this podcast, or any of the emails that you’ll get from me about enrollment or about the program is never to convince you. In fact, this is kind of your first lesson in mindset and behavior change and psychology in general is, for instance, if you’re trying to convince your clients to do something or trying to convince someone to buy from you, it’s probably not gonna work.

And even if they end up doing that. From a behavior change standpoint, they’re not gonna stick to it. From a buyer standpoint, they’re gonna have buyer’s remorse, and from a coaching and client perspective, it’s probably not gonna be a really fun relationship to be in if you were the one to convince them to be there.

So that is not my goal here. My goal here is instead to give you all of the information you need to make your own decision and feel confident about that, whether that’s not to enroll or to join us inside this cohort and become a Certified Health Mindset coach officially. Why HMCC Exists

Okay. I will make sure that link is down there so you can get added to the list and you can get those emails straight to your inbox and. First and foremost, before we get into, you know, the logistics and the structure of the program, things that are important, okay? They’re important. The more important thing is that I share with you why HMCC exists in the first place.

I knew that this stuff needed to get into the hands of health and fitness coaches. You guys are out there getting personal training, certifications, specializations in all different types of areas, whether it’s metabolism or hormone health or what have you. You are getting advanced certifications in certain areas, and you love the education side of this.

Some of you are dieticians or doctors or nurses or mental health counselors, and you have that background, but you were never really taught how to take all of that information. And coach your clients so that they actually stick to the plan so that they stop self-sabotaging, and so that they stop leaving you after the minimum commitment that they need to be there.

I can confidently say. That this stuff is the secret sauce, and I can say that confidently because again, a thousand students, what? Crazy, and we’ve got so much feedback over the years and we know exactly what it looks like from coaches who went through HMCC. Three years ago, five years ago, and how that’s still showing up in their business today.

Whether that means they’re signing more clients, their clients are staying longer, they feel more confident in their coaching abilities, which then obviously has downstream effects to how they talk about their coaching offer and they talk about what they can do, which then also brings them more clients.

Also talking like killer testimonials and transformations and ah, it’s so much good stuff guys. So much good stuff. And I will say I could sit here all day. And talk about how great HMCC is. I am the creator of HMCC, so I understand that. Of course, Kasey’s gonna talk about how great it is at the end of this episode.

I’m actually going to share some voices from students who have gone through HMCC, so you can hear from them first about what their experience has been like, actually hear from a student, because I, yes, I’m the creator of the course. I have never actually been a student myself. So you’ll hear from them at the end of this episode, and I just want you to know that the.

Coaches who don’t turn away unmotivated clients, but instead know exactly how to help them. The coaches who don’t write off self-sabotage as just an issue of the client, or call them uncoachable, instead, they know exactly the specific coaching tools that need to be implemented to help those people.

Those are the coaches that are using this stuff in their coaching practices. I know what it feels like to feel like your hands are tied in situations where you’re giving your clients all of the solutions and all the things to try and all changes to their plans and all the things they can do. And they may even seem motivated.

They may even say, yes, this sounds like a great plan coach. Let’s do it. And then they still can’t stick with it. And you see so much potential in them and you don’t understand why they aren’t staking anything. I know how much that sucks. I’ve been there. I promise you I get it. And that is why I created the Health Mindset Coaching Certification, because I was going through my PhD at the Mindset Lab, learning all the things about mindset and health behavior change, while also being a health and fitness coach at the same time and thinking to myself, why the heck am I having to get a PhD to learn this stuff in order to support my clients beyond nutrition and exercise and programs and plans?

Huh? So I created a program to bridge that gap, bridge the gap between evidence-based science-backed practices in mindset psychology, and behavior change with real world coaching application. And I could go on and on with this very passionate speech, but I would like to get into the logistics of the program so you know what you’re getting into beyond the results that you’re going to get.

What’s New Inside The Health Mindset Coaching Certification

So I originally created HMCC in 2020, so yes, we are going into six years since I originally created this program. You know what is crazy? I know many of you use Loom for your check-ins, like the screen recording, video recording software that is available when I recorded HMCC, the first time I used Loom, but the software was so new.

That I recorded the entirety of HMCC. Like we’re talking, some of these modules are like 45 to 90 minutes long. I recorded the entire thing on Loom for free, and now I think you have to pay after five minutes. Like that just goes to show you how long it’s been since I have recorded this program and why.

Also clearly long overdue that I have now rerecorded and revamped the entire thing with my paid loom at this point, and so this. Entirely revamped new. You’re going to be getting better instruction, more application, more client examples, more eloquent speaking from yours, truly, since I’ve had six years of practice now, and in addition to that.

We’ve also added some other really great things to the program. And here’s the thing, I, I also want you guys to know that it has not been six years of me adding absolutely nothing to this program. Okay? We have added tons of additional videos, calls, resources, client worksheets, coaching worksheet. Cheat sheets, et cetera.

It has gotten better and better every single year, but this is the biggest update we’ve ever made and the most significant update we’ve made, which is why we’re calling it HMCC 2.0, and you will be one of the first coaches to get your hands on it. And in addition to that, we are planning to host some office hours with previous students who have gone through HMCC years ago.

And they can show you in real time how they are supporting their clients using HMCC and then also help you better understand the material so you’re not just learning from me all the time, but you’re learning from coaches who are. In the trenches and are really, really, really good at this stuff. So you can have someone to kind of look up to in that way as well.

And what else are we adding? Uh, we have some comprehensive, speaking of cheat sheets, like I don’t even wanna call this a cheat sheet because it’s basically like a behavior change database, honestly, that has kind of a nice ring to it. So it’s an opportunity for you to go in and type in specific client concerns or specific things that you learned in HMCC and get a really quick.

Recap and rundown of what that is or what could be supportive to your clients based on what you know about HMCC and what you learned in the program. So it’s sort of like a, a quick search for those things inside these comprehensive cheat sheets, I guess behavior change databases now what we are calling them.

So those are brand new. You’re getting access to those, like I said before, more application, more client examples so you can really see how this stuff plays out in real time. You will hear me probably say the word application 700 times on this podcast because that was, that’s really the goal of HMCC.

It’s not to just give you a bunch of scientific information about behavior change, but to give you specific strategies that you can go put in your check-ins with your clients. Like that is the goal of HMCC is truly that. Gap bridging between the science and the practice. So we’re doing even more of that ’cause we know after hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of students going through the program and giving us feedback, that is something that is always, always welcomed, is more application and client examples.

Okay. Bonuses we have in store. These are different. Pretty much every single time we open doors for Hmcc, we have some fun bonuses for you because you are a Spring 2026 student specifically, and this time, honestly, I think we have a bonus that I am most excited about. Like I have not been this excited about a bonus.

Ever in the history of HMCC and you’re probably like, uh, Kasey, you’re just saying that No, I’m not. It’s really cool. Like it’s really cool. It’s also very relevant to, how do I say this, without giving it away, very relevant to the direction that we’re seeing a lot of online businesses go and just the internet.

In general, in also is a very great way for you to have easy access to the HMCC knowledge and additional information in the mindset and behavior change and psychology world, and it’s easy to use. I think those are all the hints I’m gonna give you. So. That’s coming. We also have other bonuses related to kind of like the first step for many of you who are newer coaches or you’re just, I was gonna use the word suffering, but that feels pretty intense.

But things have been different in the coaching industry in the last few years, and I’m very. Very, very aware of that. Given that I work with hundreds of coaches and I’m also a business mentor, I, I understand and because of that, things been harder to sign clients. You know, I used to be able to like post a picture of a cookie on Instagram and get like 30 client applications and we’re living in a different time now and we’re going to make sure that you are supported during this time.

And that being said, one of the best ways. To continue to sign more clients is one, to be more confident in your coaching skills. Two, get better testimonials. Three, get better client results. And four, stand out from the other coaches out there, especially those that are preaching, that they’re mindset coaches without any formal education or training.

So those are all four things that you will be able to do as a health mindset certified coach. Far more, far better than you ever have been able to do before. So can look forward to all of that. As far as the content goes, I mean, if you are an avid podcast listener, you probably have a good handle on like what you can expect inside HMCC.

From science and research, foundations of behavior change, what makes people motivated versus not motivated, what makes them want to do something versus not do something. Growth versus fixed mindset, and how to start identifying those mindset barriers and to break through them with your clients. I mean, we’re gonna get into willpower, self-control.

Those are kind of the same things, so whatever word you wanna use there. Stress, habit formation, motivation, goal setting. I mean, kind of all of the big dial movers that we see with our clients that either can propel them forward or hold them back, and you need to have the skills in order to propel them forward.

And not hold them back, and that’s what HMCC will teach you. We’ll also get into, at length, we will get into communication methods and how to ask specific questions or position things to help your clients start to shift their mindset, see things differently, reframe things, and ultimately take different actions, take more action, change their behavior.

We’re also gonna get into, as I’ve mentioned, again, so much application, so much real life client work, so you understand not only the science and the information and how fun it is to learn these things, but how to actually speak to your clients and put this into practice in real time. Okay. So that’s kind of what you’re looking at as far as content on our.

For those of you who just wanna like throw that in really quick, but you will see in depth what the actual content of HMCC looks like when you go to the page rather than hearing me just like spew this information on the podcast.

Program Structure 

You can also go there. That’s kind of like gives you the full picture of everything, including the structure, which I will run through very quickly here. I like to say that HMCC is self-paced, but instructor led because we are going through this program together and I will be there with you every step of the way alongside Sarah Tierney, who is my co-instructor inside the program.

She was actually in the first round of HMCC six years ago, so it’s really cool to see that she’s now supporting our students and. You’ll have access to us through live discussion and q and a calls where again, we will go through more client application and help you with your specific client cases. You also have access to us in the community group and all of the other coaches, your peers inside this community.

Which I think is an important thing to touch on right here because so many of us as coaches, as entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, whatever. We’re working from home. We’re working from coffee shops. It’s kind of lonely. If you’ve ever felt like it’d be really nice to talk to someone about this client or this issue, or this thing that I’m going through, who would actually understand you will get that inside HMCC.

I mean, we got students who are now like BFFs. BFF’s, IRL, oh my God. In real life, they’re meeting up in real life. They’re hanging out, they’re traveling to see each other ’cause they met each other inside HMCC. Also, really great opportunity for collaborations and to chat with each other even about. Other things like what coaching software is everybody using?

So we build a really tight knit community inside HMCC because of the live structure of it and spending time together every single week. So you can look forward to that. I do say. Self-paced, but instructor led because all of those video modules, the ones that I just fully updated and rerecorded, they can be watched on your own time.

So the goal, the goal note, I’m saying the goal would be that every week you are watching a new module, a new video training from me, and then you are attending a live discussion call that week. You can watch that video module on your own time. You can watch five minutes here, 10 minutes there, pause, rewind, whatever you need to do.

Those live calls, of course, are live, so that can’t be done on your own time, but everything else can be done on your own time. And I say. Goal is to do it this way because I understand things come up. Maybe you need to get a little bit ahead, maybe you fall a little bit behind. We do have targeted catchup weeks throughout HMCC, and I will tell you, I think something that people worry about all the time is like, oh, am I gonna have time for this?

It’s live. I have to get through it in a certain amount of time. Here’s the thing, first and foremost, if it was DIY, we would not have a 97% success rate. Are you hearing this? 97% of people who go through HMCC complete it successfully. They get certified and they’re done. That does not happen with DIY courses.

In fact, oh my gosh, guys, the stats are so dismal for online courses. It’s something like five to 15% of people are actually successfully completing online courses. And we boast. Yeah, like 95 to 97% after a thousand students. I’m sorry, but this is a huge like bar braggadocious moment. I think that’s so important and that is due to the structure of the program.

So as much as you might be thinking like, oh, it’s live and I can’t do it on my own. You, you can, there is still like, again, self-paced components of this. That’s the majority of it actually. However, we do give you a little bit of a deadline so that you actually get it done. ’cause we care about you actually getting through the course and being successful.

We don’t just wanna hand this to you and cross our fingers that you actually make your way through. So that’s what you can look forward to. We, again, we have ketchup weeks. There’s plenty of buffer time. We have honestly never. Had complaints from students about the fact that it is live and they have to complete it in a certain amount of time, never in six years.

So just keep that in mind. Okay. We have tons of application assignments, so after every single module, you’re actually having to think about, okay, there’s this client who is struggling with X, Y, Z thing. How do I actually. Use what I just learned to help this client, and we will discuss that on those live calls every single week, which by the way, you don’t have to come to live calls every week.

We have a lot of fun and I really hope you come. It’s like my highlight of my week every single week, but they are recorded and I understand time zones can make things difficult and everything, so you can look forward to that. At the very end, you have a final assessment that is a client case study, so you’re getting a client check-in that you have to respond to using HM.

C. C concepts and strategies that you have learned. And with that, we are hand grading every single one of those. So you are quite literally getting coached, mentored individually at the end of the program and honestly throughout the program because you have access to us whenever you need us, which again, not typical for most online courses.

Okay, so. One thing I do wanna bring your attention to is that HMCC now has two levels to it. So what we’ve been talking about so far is HMCC level one. That is what is open for enrollment. Right now we do have a level two, and this is our advanced application course. And it’s sort of like an apprenticeship more, so it’s five months, close to six months, like basically half the year we’re talking and they’re pretty hands-on.

Like we are in the trenches together. You, me and only 39 other students, it’s a very small cohort. We cut it off at 40 students ’cause we wanna keep it small and intimate and hands on. And this. Level two course is our advanced course. If you go through level one and you’re like, oh my God, I need more of this.

I really, really wanna become an expert in this material. I wanna learn how to diagnose behavior change issues and all of this. That’s what we do in level two. Then you can move into level two. And I’m mentioning this now because it is spring. It’s a spring cohort right now on only now, only this one time per year.

Literally this Monday. Ninth through Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026. This is the only four day period of the entire year that you can bundle level one and level two together, and you can get a really significant discount by bundling those together. The reason why we only have this offer available one time per year is because level two only runs once per year, starting in the summer through the end of the year, and it backs up right next to the end of the spring level one cohort.

So. This is the only time of year that you can go through level one and then immediately go into level two, and we’re giving you that severe discount to bundle them together because one, you’re pre-comm committing. And that helps us to understand how many seats we have available, which we’ve already sold a handful of level two seats.

I wanna say it’s like 12 to 15 students are already taken that, and that’s outta 40. So hey, almost like halfway full. So. We also know over the years what our students have told us, those that are in level two, is they really, really. Enjoy and it’s helpful for them to go from level one immediately into level two.

So that’s why we have this bundle deal for you. Again, all of this information is on the enrollment page, so you can see all of that with the link in the show notes. So just something to continue to look forward to there. What else do I have to tell you? We have our new directory up and running. It has been for about a year now.

This is an opportunity for you to get more. Collaborations for you to get hired if you’re an assistant coach, for you to be outreached for podcast episodes. This directory was built out of necessity because I had so many people. Sending me emails and dms individually asking, Hey, I wanna hire a coach who went through your program.

I wanna collaborate with a coach who went through your program who has this specific specialty or skillset or whatever, and I could not keep up with it. So we created the directory. So when you finish HMCC and you become. A health mindset certified coach, we will get all your information and toss it in the directory so that people can find you and they will find you.

I’ve already heard plenty of opportunities that have come out of having this directory available. Okay, one big question. I think I will. Kind of end with this question because people always ask, do I have to get re-certified? Short answer is no. Once you become a health Mindset certified coach, you stay that way forever.

I’m not asking you to come back every two years to give me more money to take a silly multiple choice test and keep your certification if you can’t tell. I don’t really love the recertification process that most certifications do have because it’s just that it’s a money grab and it’s. An open book, like multiple choice tests that no one’s even paying attention to.

If the purpose is for you to continue to sharpen your skills and stay up to date on information and make sure you still know what you’re doing and you’re talking about from when you took your certification, like course, program, whatever, if that’s the point, then it’s usually done very incorrectly in my opinion, for most certifications.

So we don’t have that. We’re not doing that. What we do have is an alumni program. And this is something that is very low cost, and you can join after you complete HMCC and we have two calls a month are in in there. One is with me where I’m doing a mini training or a refresher training on what you learned in HMCC.

You can come with specific client questions or case studies that we can work through as a group. The second call of the month is with. Sarah, and that is a client case study application. So you guys are working together to go through this client issue and working from an HMCC lens to support that hypothetical client together.

So you’re continuing to practice your skills. We also have tons of guest speakers and other trainings and resources for the alumni group. So that is something that is an option that you can look forward to. That is sort of in lieu of a recertification process because again, I think. For the most part, those are just silly.

So, okay, if you are ready, my friend, to finally feel confident in calling yourself a mindset coach and standing out in the sea of health and fitness coaches who claim. They can help their clients with mindset, but they don’t actually have any formal education and training. Again, never been a student myself in this program. I just created it and have now redone all of it again, and I can’t wait for you to get in there and see it.

So without further ado, I will leave you with some words from our past students.

This is something that every evidence-based practitioner, every health and fitness coach could benefit from. Also loved this program. I’ve been coaching for like nine years and this was a game changer for me. So thank you. I’ve learned so much, so much. I wonder how I was coaching before, but now everything is so much better and I wanted to say thank you in person.

I wanted to say thank you. I wanted to hear my voice. As I said, to thank you has been the best investment in my career. Actually, it’s the best investment. I am a better coach because of this certification. I think on average, people were staying with us for just about three months, which as we know, is not enough to create results.

Now, fast forward, we’re now in 2024. People are sticking with us. For 11.4 months on average, an increase in my client retention and an increase in my client’s results, plus an increase in their satisfaction with my program, y’all, this certification is one that you honestly cannot afford to sleep on if you want your business.

To develop and grow. We’ve seen nothing but an uptick and growth in my own business and in my own mindset. This in itself helped me tremendously with client retention rate, helped me with just the success of a coach and feeling less frustrated with my time and energy spent and check-ins. Now I feel excited to respond to this client when before I was like, oh, what am I gonna say to this client?
